Status: Operational

Power Generation Capacity: 185 MW

Non-Carbon Energy Mix: 35%

Energy Sources: Nuclear, Natural Gas, Coal

Core Scientific has two separate facilities in Dalton, GA. One is located at "Industrial South" and the other at "Boring Drive". We combined the two facilities together for the sake of this analysis.

The facilities currently have a combined power capacity of 185 MW and source their power from Dalton Utilities. While Dalton Utilities doesn't provide a transparent power generation mix, they do disclose the main facilities and resource types of their portfolio. Nuclear, coal and natural gas make up the majority of their portfolio. The lack of a quantifiable breakdown from each source makes it difficult to estimate energy mix for the mining facility but, given the above disclosures from Dalton Utilities, we assume carbon-free sources account for just less than half of total power mix for Core Scientific's Dalton facilities.
